Kerry Sim is an Information Professional focusing on user experience design/research, information architecture & content management.
Kerry completed her Master of Science in Information Studies program at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) with an endorsement of specialization in User Experience Research/Design and information Architecture. She also earned her Bachelor of Science at UT Austin for Applied Learning & Development with a focus on All-Level Special Education. While completing her Master's program at UT Austin, she interned at Whole Foods Market assisting in digital information asset management and enterprise information architecture modeling, creating blueprints for architecture models for enterprise-wide systems within Whole Foods Market. She also worked as a Records Management Intern at Capital Metro where she supported in developing training materials for the employees on records management, identified and resolved user issues for Capital Metro's Enterprise Document and Records Management System, and designed a function-based records taxonomy for its Human Resources department to aid search & information retrieval. She also worked on various UX design projects (refer to "Design Projects" on the top navigation menu for details) involving UX research, usability testing, data analysis, wireframing, and prototyping and is familiar with design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, Balsamiq, Moqups, and Canva. During her time at Indeed as a Taxonomy Analyst, she developed and maintained the backend global taxonomy of Indeed search engine to improve the search experience to yield relevant and meaningful results. Her experience at Indeed led her to work at Meta as an Information Architect & UX Researcher, playing a hybrid role in developing and maintaining the content schema for enterprise-wide content management system for internal employees for career development and training. She also led UX research projects to conduct various research methods such as user interviews, user surveys, usability testing, user acceptance testing, and feature walkthroughs to provide practical and data-driven insights and recommendations to improve the overall user experience. Currently, Kerry is continuing to pursue her career as a UX Researcher at Indeed, impacting the company's Diversity and Inclusion goals to help job seekers facing barriers as well as internal employees' experience with tools that enable them to get their jobs done most efficiently and effectively as possible. |
